Leadership
Building the conditions for creative learning.
My leadership grows from the classroom: listening closely, supporting teachers, and turning a shared vision into daily practice. I bring together arts education, inclusive instruction, and a commitment to programs that are thoughtfully built and sustained.
Arts program leadership
As Director of the Arts at the Charter School of Educational Excellence, I mentored teachers, aligned curriculum, evaluated instruction through the Danielson Framework, and managed budgets and grants.
Professional learning
I designed professional development for Garrison UFSD faculty during remote instruction. My work connects curriculum design with practical support for teachers, grounded in the needs of their students and school communities.
Professional Trust & Representation
As a teachers’ union building representative and grievance committee member, I serve as a trusted resource for colleagues navigating sensitive professional matters. These roles call for sound judgment, discretion, and a clear commitment to fair process. I approach this responsibility with careful listening, respect for confidentiality, and complete professionalism.
Statewide contribution
In 2020, I served on the NYSED Reopening Schools Taskforce, contributing to statewide special education practice.
Advocacy and educational access
I spoke at the State Hearing for Educational Rights in 2018 and at school board meetings, working to keep families and the public informed. Advocacy is part of my commitment to responsive, inclusive education.
