Educator

Learning through making.

For about twenty years, I have taught K–12 visual arts across

public, charter, and BOCES special education settings.

Working in two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and digital

media, I create learning experiences that invite students to

notice, experiment, and give form to their ideas.

Inclusive classrooms

Seven years across six Rockland BOCES schools shaped my

pproach to teaching students with autism and emotional,

cognitive, and multiple disabilities. Alongside clinicians and

multidisciplinary teams, I developed art experiences

responsive to each learner’s strengths, needs, and ways of

communicating.

Choice, voice, and discovery

Teaching for Artistic Behavior, student choice, differentiation, and arts integration inform my practice. Through authentic, hands-on work, students develop artistic skills while practicing collaboration, problem-solving, perseverance, and confidence in their own decisions.

Social Emotional Learning

My practice brings together culturally responsive teaching, PBIS, MTSS, and DBT-informed approaches. Supporting emotional regulation, social development, and individual voice is part of the work of the studio.

& Course Development

I develop courses for SUNY Westchester, New Era Creative Space in Peekskill, Skillshare, and CreativeLive, translating studio knowledge and classroom experience into thoughtfully sequenced learning. My approach balances clear instructional structure with space for experimentation, creative independence, and individual voice.
